Huawei Mate X On A Budget ?

Samsung Galaxy Fold was originally planned to hit the market in the month of April. However, the design flaw of the device almost delayed the launch for about two months. As per the leaks, Samsung will announce the new launch date, by the end of this month and will be made available in July. However, BestBuy and AT&T have already canceled the existing pre-orders. On the other hand, the Huawei Mate X is also expected to be launched in July.

The Mate X is also the world’s first 5G affordable smartphone. While the rumored launch date will be during the 90 days reprieve period give by the US government, it’s still going to get hit by the US ban. The flexible OLED display on the Huawei Mate X is supplied by another Chinese company called BOE. According to the latest report, BOE is using the optical clear adhesive (OCA) supplied by the US company 3M. After Trump’s executive order, the company is said to have stopped supplying it for using with Huawei devices.

Samsung will become the world’s first brand to sell affordable smartphones. On the other hand, Huawei could also launch the Mate X exclusively in China with its limited inventory. However, we don’t think the Chinese company will be able to launch its affordable smartphone unless it finds another supplier of clear adhesive which doesn’t get affected by the US ban. The Mate X sports a large 8-inch OLED display, which offers 6.6-inch and 6.38-inch displays when folded.
