Xiaomi launched the Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3 smartphones in the Indian market in April this year. The Redmi Y3 is the company’s latest smartphone in the selfie-centric Redmi Y-series and is the successor to last year’s Redmi Y2. It comes in Elegant Blue, Bold Red, and Prime Black color options and is sold via Amazon. in, Mi.com, and My Home Stores. Now, the company announced that starting tomorrow, the Redmi Y3 will be sold in India via an open sale.
The device comes in 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB storage variants and is priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively. The Redmi Y3 is also the most affordable smartphone to come with a 32MP selfie camera. It sports a gradient finish polycarbonate body with a 6.26-inch HD+ display on the front. Under the hood, the device comes to power by 14nm Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform clocked at 1.8GHz. As said earlier, it comes packed with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage.
There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage up to 512GB. On the rear, the Redmi Y3 sports 12MP + 2MP dual camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10 out of the box. While there is a rear-facing fingerprint scanner on the rear, the device also supports face unlock using the 32MP selfie camera. It is backed by a 4,0000mAh battery and supports only 10W power input.
It is also splash resistant, thanks to the P2i nano coating. The connectivity options include 4G volt, Wi_Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 ports. If you are looking for a self-centric smartphone in the budget, then the Redmi Y3 with its 32MP selfie camera is the most obvious choice.
